Offshore Fishing Continues to Produce!
July 12th, 2009Nearshore: Spanish Mackeral have been hit and miss, however, 30 to 40 fish is not uncommon. The best baits are Trolling the Clarkspoons with a small planner and/or trolling weight. Try 5 knots and adjust as needed. Do not go through the school, try circling and dipping in and out of the school area.
Offshore: The King Mackearal and Mahi-Mahi along with Cobia, Sailfish, Amberjack, Barracuda and Sharks have been consistant for weeks on end. Look for things to slow until the full moon passes. Bottom fishing for Grouper, Sea Bass, Beeliners, Red Snapper, Triggerfish, Silver Snapper and Pink Snapper is a good bet anywhere Southwest of the Frying Pan Tower. You should catch a few Kings and Mahi-Mahi on the light lines as well.
July is a Great Month to Fish!
